FL/GA Weekend

It is the last Saturday of October so it must be the Florida/ Georgia weekend or as some people call it "The Worlds Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party." A football game does happen to take place somewhere in there. Florida is favored by 2 touchdowns but I think it will be closer than that. No matter what the rest of the season is like both teams seam to be at their best in this game.

I also found out the I do not have to go back to CA until Monday. That means I can be in my own church this Sunday. We are not starting the other part of the warehouse until Monday, November 6th. Sharon will be joining me on Thursday November 2nd. Her 50th birthday is the 4th of November. We are going out with some friends on tomorrow for both of the women's birthdays. This has become an annual tradition with the four of us as their birthdays are so close together.

I will try to let you know what is going on next week before I get bogged down in the start up again.

Home(for a little bit)

I finnally got thourgh the first week of the new business. I was working 12-13 hours a day and did not have time to even think about my blog. By the time I would get back to my room my brain would just shut down and I did do much at that time. I even worked thourgh the weekend and saw very little football. I did find out that Missouri won on Saturaday. The Gators did not play. On Sunday the Chiefs won on a last second field goal and the Jags got globbered by the Texans, who they should have beaten.

But enough of that. Tuesday I flew home to Jacksonville. I was able to see my wife and to go to my own church on Wednesday. It really was good to see home and sleep in my own bed. The view of our own house as we pulled in the drive was great.

Then the next morning as I walked down the stairs I could see the sun coming up over the marsh. What a wonderful sight. Later this week I am going to try to get some fishing in and see if I can catch me another red bass like this one I am holding from last year.

Well that is all I have to say for now. I hope this finds everyone well. Untill next time.

P.S. Monique I hope you enjoy the pictues.

New Hires

Well this week is nearly over and it has been a busy week. We begin the hiring process for the new account. We begin group hiring on Wednesday. Each morning we would bring in a group at 8:30 and 10:00. The last three days we have hired over 90 employees and need about 30 more. Next week will be even busier. We begin working in the warhouse on Monday at 4 am. That shift ends at 2:30 in the afternoon. Second shift begins there and goes untill 12:45 am. That goes on for the full 7 days of the week. I have some other help from the home office and other warehouses here to help. So don,t worry I will only be working about 15 hours a day not all 20.

On to a better note. Tomorrow is Saturday so that means college football. The 6-0 Missouri Tigers are playing at 12:30 west coast time and is on national TV so I will be able to watch that and then at 5:00 west coast time the 2nd ranked and 6-0 Florida Gators are on national TV.

At the same time Nascar is racing under the lights at Lowes Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC.

Well I hope those that read this enjoy it and I will be back at another time.

Sermons and football; must be Sunday

Went to church in Ontario at the Montecito Baptist Church. This is a church of mostly Hispanic people. They run about 1600 on Sundays. The service is in Spanish so the annoucements and the song service were hard to understand. This week they had a guest speaker. The president of Hyles-Anderson College spoke and the pastor had to translate for the members that do not speak english. His sermon was from Proverbs 6:16-19. He related the seven deadly sins to Matt 22:37-40 where it talks about our love to God and our neighbors. Each of these sins is a result of us putting ourselves before others. If we could learn to put others first we would be more what God wants us to be. After church I went to lunch with the Pastor Salazar and Bro. Young.

After lunch I got to my hotel room in time to listen to the last half of the Chiefs game on my laptop. They were losing 10-20 to Arizona when I first got online. In the 4th quater they managed to pull out a victory 23-20.

Meanwhile the Jaguars where busy squeaking out a victory of their own. They beat the New York Jets 41-0.

Football Saturday

Well it was a great day for the teams I root for.Florida remains unbeaten with a 23-10 win over LSU. Next week they play Auburn which was ranked #2 in the country before they lost today. I hope that the lost doesn't make them play extra hard.

My other team the Missouri Tigers also won to stay unbeaten. They beat Texas Tech 38-21. They gave me a scare in the middle of the game. After they had gotten a 24-0 lead Tech scored the next 21 points. Missouri's defense came back after that and did not allow another score while the Missouri offense had 2 more touchdowns. Now it is on to Sunday and lets see what the Chiefs and the Jaguars can do.

I am in Ontario, CA this week. We are starting a new account here for our company. The client is a retail distribution warehouse. My helper, Phil Hulet, and I spend the morning calling a list of prospective employees and setting up interview times. Then we went driving around and ended up in Palm Springs. I plan on spending tomorrow watching football (LSU vs FL.)
